Sarabeth's is heavenly

If you're looking for a good place for breakfast/brunch in New York, there is only one place to go: Sarabeth's!

They have 4 locations in Manhattan, and I just can't rave enough about it! The french toast is to die for, and I can't believe i'm saying this, but it blows Magelby's Fresh out of the water.

Broadway Show Ranking

I don’t consider myself a good Broadway critic, because color, music and humor keeps me pretty easily entertained. But, I have gone to 7 plays while living in New York and I am going to attempt to rank them.

For me there was a tie for 1st and 2nd place

1. In the Heights (which just one the Tony award for 2008 Best Musical) and Wicked
3. Legally Blonde
4. Hairspray (I loved it, but I had already seen it once in DC)
5. Cry Baby
6. Mary Poppins
7. Chorus Line

Chorus Line is the only show that I actually didn’t like, so I would recommend all the others! I just love going to shows, and I love the student discount (around $26/show)!

Statue of Lib, Ellis Island and the Green Hats

Saturday, our BYU intern program went to the State of Liberty and Ellis Island, and I went totally tourist. For my whole internship, I’ve wanted to look and act like a local, but not on Saturday — I even bought the green statue of liberty hat!

Kaitlyn and I were talking earlier in the week and decided that the one thing we had to do that day, was buy two hats and take a picture with the statue of liberty. Mission accomplished. Everyone in our group may have thought we look ridiculous, as we wore our hats for about an hour, but I know deep-down they were just jealous that they didn’t get a cool picture in the green hats.

I have one last thing to say about the hats: It’s one of the best $3 purchases I’ve made in the city. So if my PR career doesn’t work out, maybe I’ll just become a Statue of Liberty hat selling vendor. So, in a year or two come by my stand (which will be the cutest one there, of course) and buy the hat from me!

I was really excited to go to Ellis Island; I am really fascinated with the history of immigrants. It definitely lived up to its expectations. It’s a really pretty museum/building and has great exhibits. The ferry ride over is really fun as well.

Can’t the weird, way-too-tired New Yorkers take a cab? (Or at least not sit next to me?)

So, I was riding on the subway to work the other day. It takes a good 45 minutes to get to my office, so I wanted to sit. It is really crowded, so you’re lucky when you get a seat. Shortly after I sat down, someone new came to sit next to me, and her appearance was a little dirty and sketchy — if you know what I mean.

So like 2 minutes after she sat down, she started falling asleep on me!! I kept trying to push her off by moving my shoulder around, but it was unsuccessful. I couldn’t move anywhere because it was so crowded, and I was dieing! Trust me, you don’t want some stranger, who doesn’t smell nice and is a little creepy sleeping on your shoulder. And because I was on an express train (which has fewer stops, with more time in between), and we kept slowing down with train traffic, I couldn’t get up to move for like 15 minutes. Longest 15 minutes of my life.

So for those tired New Yorkers and commuters, clean or dirty, please don’t fall asleep on your neighbors shoulder, we don’t like it.

David Cook and David Archuleta V-I-P= Best Day EVER!!!

So, last Thursday was argueably one of the best of my life! I went to the Today Show to see David Cook and David Archuleta perform. Kaitlyn got me and Sam VIP passes and it was amazing!!! Both Davids grabbed and latched onto my hands-- that's right, not only grabbed but latched on to-- bascially it was love at first site for me and David Cook.
I was screaming like a 12-year old, but so were the middle-aged women next to me. Does that make it ok?

They are both so good live, and they are really nice. They were talking with fans for about 20 minutes, and they were so nice to each other. Everytime D Cook had the microphone he would say great things about Archie, you could tell they really liked each other and were really humble about thier stardom. I just love them!! I can't wait till August 14th! (the american idol tour concert in DC!!!)

Sam and I are sooo happy! we just touched the Davids!!

It's like rain, on your wedding day... Isn't it ironic?

Thanks to two amazing friends (Kaitlyn and Mallory), On last Friday morning I went to the Alanis Moresette Concert at the Today Show. Not only that, I was V-I-P! We were so close to Alanis, Matt Lauer, Al Roker, Ann Curry — basically the whole gang. And it was all before work! Luckily because of the long weekend, I got out of work at 1, and I went to meet Samantha, Anne, Lucy and Joann who were visiting.

Yankees vs. Orioles

I love NYC!! For the sake of not boring you, I’ll only say it one more time, but I LOVE NEW YORK! Everyday I’m doing fabulous things. Last weekend was a great weekend, that started on Thursday. I went to a Yankees vs. Orioles game with Kaitlyn, Sarah and Jared. It was awesome. I was really excited to go to the Yankee stadium during its last season in use. Before heading into the stadium we got the best pizza at a little shop outside, it was SO good. And, the best part about the game — we got the tickets for free!
The Yankees won with 8 runs and a lot of hits. It was a really exciting game.
