So, I was riding on the subway to work the other day. It takes a good 45 minutes to get to my office, so I wanted to sit. It is really crowded, so you’re lucky when you get a seat. Shortly after I sat down, someone new came to sit next to me, and her appearance was a little dirty and sketchy — if you know what I mean.
So like 2 minutes after she sat down, she started falling asleep on me!! I kept trying to push her off by moving my shoulder around, but it was unsuccessful. I couldn’t move anywhere because it was so crowded, and I was dieing! Trust me, you don’t want some stranger, who doesn’t smell nice and is a little creepy sleeping on your shoulder. And because I was on an express train (which has fewer stops, with more time in between), and we kept slowing down with train traffic, I couldn’t get up to move for like 15 minutes. Longest 15 minutes of my life.
So for those tired New Yorkers and commuters, clean or dirty, please don’t fall asleep on your neighbors shoulder, we don’t like it.
